This is an example of how a patron will place a hold/make a request using the online catalogue.
Placing a Request for a Hold is easy using the catalogue.
1. Sign in using the borrower's library card and password.
2. Perform a search for the item that the borrower is looking for.
3. Select the Search Result that reflects what the borrower is searching for.
4. Once you've identified the desired item, click on Place Hold.
*If you want a specific copy, such as a particular edition, format (hardcover, softcover), or from a specific location, click Reserve This Copy to the far-right of a given entry in the Bibliographic Record.
5. Confirm the borrower's request by selecting Place Hold(s).
*You can also change the location of the pick-up within this window (the borrower could have a trip planned to another town, and want to pick up the item there - this could eliminate transit time by picking up where the item is located).
6. A window appears stating that the request is confirmed, the borrower can return to the item detail window search by selecting OK.
7. After a request has been placed, the borrower can decide to cancel the hold by going to the My Account screen, then go to the Holds section, click the box next to the item that is no longer desired and select Cancel Hold(s). The borrower can also suspend a request until after a particular date, which may be desirable if they are waiting on an item in high-demand but will be away on a trip until after a certain date (this will allow other borrowers to receive the item while they will keep their place in the Requests/Holds Queue).
