The easiest way to cancel a hold with the item in hand is to scan it in - a window will appear with details about the hold, and at the bottom of this window will be the option to cancel the hold. Click the Yes button next to Cancel Hold?

If this item has any other holds placed on it, Horizon will display instructions related to the next request.
After you have cancelled a hold, a message will appear stating that the borrower will be notified when notices are sent. However, Horizon does not actually generate a notice. Instead, Horizon places a 'Hold Cancelled' block on the borrower's account, which will be displayed to staff when the patron's card is next scanned in to the system.
Another way to cancel a request is to enter the 'Holds' window within a patron's online 'My Account'. From this window, you can view all the requests that have been placed; check the boxes next to the one(s) desired to be cancelled and then select [Cancel Hold(s)].
