There are currently 36 approved sites offering ABE throughout the province. A current list of ABE service providers available to the general public by region and community can be found on the NL Government website. - Teachers on Wheels
Teachers on Wheels is based in St. John's and offers one-on-one tutoring to adults in the area. - Newfoundland & Labrador Laubach Literacy Council
NLLLC helps people of all ages to learn to read, learn math, learn computer skills, and more! They offer one-on-one tutoring services across the province. - Murphy Centre
The Murphy Centre offers adults (18+) three options to complete a high school equivalency or diploma: Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Educational Development (GED), and High School Credit (HSC). - Learning Disability Association of Newfoundland & Labrador
LDANL offers many programs for people with Learning Disabilities, including tutoring programs and assistive technology training. - Association for New Canadians
The Association for New Canadians (ANC) delivers settlement and integration services to immigrants and refugees in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Other Literacy Organizations
- ABC Life Literacy Canada
ABC Life Literacy is a national organization promoting literacy skills to people in Canada. There are a number of resources on their website for financial, health, family and workplace literacy which may be useful for learners and educators. Their Activate Learning program is unique to Newfoundland and Labrador, offering many workshops in Literacy skills.
