Dementia Friendly Communities Items
The Corner Brook and Stephenville-Kindale branches received books, activities, and games as part of the Dementia Friendly Communities Project in order to support Gov NLs Dementia Care Action Plan. This project was a year along collaboration with community partners within these two communities and NL Health. Items are now available for borrowing at both of these locations.
Memory Care Kits
Memory Care Kits are designed for living with dementia and their care partner. The unique items included in each themed kit encourage conversation, spark memories, and provide engaging interactions. Some items are intended to spark memories of life experiences, favourite pastimes or special times.
Kits can include: an interactive game or activity, conversation cards, a photo book, a jigsaw puzzle, a CD, a DVD, an audio book, a large print book, a non-fiction book for the care partner, and a list of community resources.
